G7 Leaders' Summit investment scandal sparks outrage across Canada

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is under fire after trade discussions at the G7 Leaders' summit in Kananaskis, Alberta erupted in scandal.

Documents containing transcripts from the leaders' discussions highlight a focus on Canada and the difficulties Carney has faced trying to negotiate a deal with the US that works for Canadians.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "Mr. Carney, we thank you and Canada, this wonderful country of which I am quite fond of, for hosting this years summit. I want to personally thank you for your commitment to fund an additional $4.3 billion in support for the Ukraine."

Donald Trump (Interrupts the conversation): "It really is an amazing amount, it's never been done before. I wonder how Canadians can afford so much after the tariffs. Maybe we need to increase them? I didn't know Canada was so rich!"

Mark Carney: "Well this is why I've invited other leaders such as President Sheinbaum of Mexico and Mr. Modi of India to this summit. To foster new relationships with other trading partners and help Canada become less dependent on the US."

Keir Starmer "Mark, you're neglecting the hard fact that the rest of the world would benefit from Canada and the US making a deal. The agreement president Trump and I signed earlier today has the same framework that would work well for any country within the commonwealth. What's stopping you from making a similar deal for the good of Canada and the commonwealth?"

Mark Carney: "It's easy for you to speak about the framework of a trade agreement that is primarily focused on the free trade of a financial technology when your currency, the Great British Pound, is the highest valued currency in the world. UK citizens won't lose a dime converting their money to US dollars to use on the platform."

The British Prime Minister appeared to be a bit taken back by the aggression behind Carney's statement.

Keir Starmer: "You were the governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England and you need me to explain to you that the currency conversions are irrelevant if the technology is making you money? Something doesn't sound right here, what else aren't you telling us?"

Donald Trump: "Excuses and lies! I'm sure Mark and his banker friends all use the app themselves. It's no secret that the Canadian government taxes the hell out of it's citizens but avoids paying any taxes themselves."

A ten second silence followed Trump's outburst.

Keir Starmer: "Well, Mr. Carney.. aren't you going to answer?"
